Barbara Schmidt, MS, RDN, CDN is the Nutrition Life Style Program Specialist at Norwalk Hospital. She is also a Nutrition Consultant for Personal Training Professionals in New Canaan and The Greenwich Department of Health Promotion and Education. She has a BS in Foods & Nutrition, did her Dietetic Internship at The New York Hospital Cornell Medical Center & an MS in Nutrition.
Barbara has been on staff at The New York Hospital Cornell Medical Center in the Private Patient Service/Gourmet Kitchen; she was the Food & Nutrition Manager for NYU Medical Center and Nutritionist for The American Fitness Institute. 
  Barbara provides medical nutrition therapy to include the treatment of heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, cancer, gastrointestinal disorders and weight control.  She has worked with a number of local health departments in Connecticut designing and teaching programs in reducing dietary fat intake, weight control, osteoporosis prevention, feeding our children better, and women’s health issues, for corporate and community settings.  She presently teaches her successful “Transformations” Weight Loss program at Norwalk Hospital.
